- Install VMware Workstation (I will not go into the steps involved here. Although I will give you the link to where you can download a free trial). The process is pretty self-explanatory.
- Download a copy of the operating system you want to try. You will need to have a version of the OS that you are allowed to use. If you want a free OS that is easy to use, click here.
- You will need either a DVD/CD copy of the OS or an image file (click here for info on what an image file is). The image file does not need to be mounted anywhere, just have it on your desktop or some easy-to-access location.
- Start up Workstation.
